Hello Film Reverie listeners it’s time for another Thing of the Week. We don’t know if you’ve heard or not but there’s a new Star Wars movie out so we decided to have our this week’s post be all about Star Wars. We hope you don’t mind us getting into the spirit just a little bit.
First up, we have Kathleen Kennedy on The Nerdist podcast. She has a wealth of knowledge and even though many of us may remember seeing her name attached to many of our favorite movies, it’s hard to remember just how many classics she has been involved in. She had a great conversation with Chris Hardwick. Check it out!
Next up, a post from premiumbeat.com about three filmmaking lessons from the production of J.J. Abrams’ installment to the Star Wars franchise. Just an interesting read and some cool behind the scenes photos.
Lastly, a great little short film called Summer ’78. It was fun and touching and provides a nice, fictional bit of Star Wars mythology to the making of the movies. We really enjoyed it. We hope you do to.
That’s going to do it for this week. We hoped it helped you get inspired and into the mood of the Star Wars/Holiday season. We’ll see you next time. For more, check out our weekly interview podcast, Film Reverie. We talk to filmmakers and filmmaker centric guests about the process of making movies. This pas week we had on Lynnaire MacDonald from The Film Sprites to discuss marketing and PR for filmmakers.
Have a great holiday. We’ll see you again in the new year!
